Oriental Crunch from Lois Flamm.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 2 Tablespoons instant coffee
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup almonds OR pecans OR walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 2 cups flour
- 1 six-ounce package chocolate chips
- Blend butter/margarine, coffee, salt, almond extract and vanilla.
- Beat in sugar gradually.
- Add flour and chocolate chips.
- Press into ungreased jelly roll pa (15x10x1).
- Sprinkle and press nuts over top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes.
- Cool. Break into pieces.
