Oriental Crunch

Oriental Crunch from Lois Flamm.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 Tablespoons instant coffee
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup almonds OR pecans OR walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 six-ounce package chocolate chips
  1. Blend butter/margarine, coffee, salt, almond extract and vanilla.
  2. Beat in sugar gradually.
  3. Add flour and chocolate chips. 
  4. Press into ungreased jelly roll pa (15x10x1).
  5. Sprinkle and press nuts over top.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes.
  7. Cool. Break into pieces.
